For the fourth year we are offering a golf school experience at the incredible Bandon Dunes Golf Resort and we are making the school available for registration now. David Elaimy, the lead instructor of the school, has traveled with a group to Bandon Dunes every winter since the resort opened in 1999 and he is very excited to bring a group of golf students to experience a truly unique golf school on some of the world’s finest and most lovely golf courses.

Bandon Dunes Golf Resort
Bandon Dunes possesses three of the finest golf courses on the world as can be seen by these rankings from Golf Magazine in 2007.

Pacific Dunes #9 in the U.S. and #13 in the world.
Bandon Dunes #34 in the U.S. and #57 in the world.
Bandon Trails #56 in the U.S.

Accommodations: We will be staying in the Chrome Lake Rooms and Lofts which are nearly perfect for a such a golf experience.

Walking Only: Bandon Dunes is a walking only golf course. Therefore there are no motorized golf carts, which is one of the charms of the place. So be prepared to work on your game at the practice facility and to and walk 18 holes each day. Caddies are available and recommended - we have worked with many caddies at Bandon and can arrange for a senior caddie to loop for you.

Shuttle: Bandon Dunes’ resort shuttle is constantly running to transport you from your accommodations to the main lodge, golf courses and practice facility. Therefore once you are at the resort you will not need to rent a car.

Weather Info: The school takes place in January so prepared for whatever weather the golf gods provide for us. We have visited Bandon Dunes each of the last 8 winters and have blessed with a lot of lovely weather. But we are reminded by the crashing waves that we are playing in the middle of winter on the shore of the Pacific Ocean in Oregon so if you choose to come to the school, be prepared for rain and wind. In fact, look forward to it, because somehow, in Bandon (as in Scotland) it seems appropriate.

Focus of the School: We are considering this a “players” school for golfers who are interested in performing their best while fully enjoying the challenges that golf presents. We will keep the mechanics simple and focus on shot making, strategy, and playing with confidence and freedom.
